the deliveryWhen you are 35 weeks pregnant we will discuss the delivery with you. In this conversation we will ask if you would like to deliver at home or in hospital. If there is no medical necessity to deliver in hospital you can decide where you want to deliver your child. This choice is based on whatever your partner and you feel comfortable with. During this conversation any possible wishes and questions and a number of practical matters concerning the delivery will also be discussed with you. Normally the delivery starts between the 37th and 42nd week of the pregnancy. The delivery mostly starts with contractions, but it also occurs that the delivery starts by the breaking of the waters. At a specific regularity and length of time of the contractions you call the emergency phone and we will come and have a look at home how you are doing. How this proceeds exactly will be extensively discussed with you during the check ups. You will also receive a booktlet of the practice in which this is extensively explained. |
