Midwives' practice Buitenwatersloot Delft

the checkups

intake

The first check up takes place between the 8th and 11th week of the pregnancy. This check up will take up a little bit more time because we need to have a lot of information about you and your partner. Some blood will be drawn, the blood pressure will be measured and we will make the first ultra sound. You will receive a booklet with information about the practice and the pregnancy. The next check ups will take about 10 minutes.

In the first months of the pregnancy you will be checked upon every month. In the course of the pregnancy the time in between check ups will be shorter. In the final weeks of the pregnancy you will be examined every week. In all there will be ten till twelve check ups. Every time we will ask you how you are doing, we will measure your blood pressure, determine the growth of the uterus and we will listen to the baby’s heart beat. Later on in the pregnancy we will also determine the growth and position of the baby.

We will make sure that you will meet all four of us during the check ups, because if you are going to deliver the midwife who is on duty at that particular moment will come to you. Of course there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions during the check ups. If you have a question in between check ups you can save the question till the next check up or you can call us during our telephone office hours.
